We’ve just completed printing and painting a full table of 40K Votann compatible terrain from SacrusMundus, and boy it’s pretty amazing!

What we have is a set of terrain for 40K that isn’t full of holes!  We’re looking forward to playing some very different games on this.  There’s lots of line of sight blocking, but also good perch points and area terrain to gain cover from.

If you’re interested in picking up this set for yourself you can find it here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115710815353

The individual pieces can also be found in the shop to purchase separately.

We thought about adding bases to some of the pieces, but after having a read over the 40K terrain rules we realised it wasn’t needed.

We’ve decided to assign all the terrain as both Area and Obstacle terrain.  We’ve then given it the Defensible, Obscuring, scalable and Light cover traits.

Using these will mean that infantry will get cover from standing behind the archways of the Processing plant for instance, without actually being physically on/in the terrain.

Let’s take a run through the individual pieces…

Processing Plant

A truly huge piece.  The railed section has a tongue and groove system for slotting the pieces together, so they don’t have to be glued for easier storage and transport.  We made this into 3 individual pieces.

The roof comes off the main building so it’s really easy to get snipers into a well covered position.

More individual rail pieces can be added – you could make this the length of the table if you wanted!

Outpost

Although we are going to run this with the same terrain traits as the rest, there’s no reason why Votann players can’t use this as a fortification.

Furnace

Chunky!  Sniper perch for a small squad and great LOS blocker.  No standing right on the top as the chimney drops full length of the model 😀

Ruin A

Quite similar to a 40K standard ruin corner, but no holes in the bottom so easier to stay out of sight first turn!

Ruin B

Another great starting cover point with options for killing or hiding…

Ruin C

The joint tallest piece in the set, with 3 levels above ground level and an amazing centrepiece tower .  Huge.

Ruin D

Scattered ruins and flipped scatter ruins

Great pieces to add to the density of the table and break up and large sparse areas.
