Mission 1 – The Dyson Sphere outer hull

With the ISS Vanguard flying headlong towards an unidentified structure on a collision course, the Lander was dispatched to investigate.  On approach, we were shot down by an automated defence turret.

We survived the crash and were able to pick our way out of the ship and through the outer structure, eventually disabling the turret and opening the Dyson Sphere to allow the Vanguard to pass through safely.

Mission 2 – Pellucid

We landed on a planet that was literally breaking into pieces.  We found remnants of several alien races.  Strangely, they appeared to be incapable of space travel; it seems that several of the species on the planet had evolved into sentience and they had somehow learnt to live together in peace, although their level of technology were unable to protect them from the destruction of their planet.

They had, however, protected a startling artefact – a Stele – a probe – from the race that we are calling The Builders.  Within it, research to lead us to a series of possible destinations; a breadcrumb trail.

Mission 3 – Brimstone

We landed on Brimstone after our lander was almost shredded by orbital debris; we were all wounded, and we lost half our supplies to a cargo bay hull breach.  Not a good start!  A violent dust storm was rampaging across the planet, that we would have to avoid to complete our mission.

We were doing ok with 3 new dept heads, managing to find some new supplies and plenty of discoveries until the Science team ran straight an automated defence droid in the middle of a dust storm.  After being battered by the storm, the Science member didn’t even see the Bot bearing down on him, and he was messed up badly.

With the science member trapped between the droid – which we are now calling the Arrogator – and the dust storm, we had to make the difficult decision to lift off without him….  He is now missing, presumed dead…

Although we had made a number of scientific discoveries, being beaten down by this alien behemoth and losing a crewmember to it left a very sour taste.  At some point, we would likely return to defeat this threat and reclaim the body of our fallen….
